Trilogian viimeinen osa. Jätti kyllä jälleen yhtä tyhjäksi kuin kaksi edellistä osaa. Ei tässä samanlaista julmuutta ole kuin aikaisemmissa. Ehkä syynä on taas kielen "kasvu" lapsesta ja teinistä aikuisen tajuntaan. Tai sitten todellakin syy lepää siinä, että nyt tapahtumat käsittelevät jo aikuisen elämää ja omia valintoja. Seikkoja, jotka ovat jossain määrin tuttuja itse kullekin vaikka tausta tavallisesti onkin melkoisesti iloisempi kuin Davella.
Kirja on kuitenkin jälleen hyvin kirjoitettu. Tapahtumissa elää mukana. Lisäksi Dave avaa vähän menneisyyden tapahtumia nyt aikuisen kertomana. Näin lukijakin ymmärtää taas hiukan enemmän. Mutta ei siltikään kaikkea, sillä tuskin Dave itsekään tietää syytä - ainakaan lopullista ja yksiselitteistä - kaikkeen. Itseä jäi myös hieman harmittamaan se, että kirjassa ei täysin kerrottu mitä tapahtui Daven sijaisperheille tai veljille. Veljistä mainitaan vain, etteivät he enää kokoontuneet yhteen. Mikseivät? Tiedän, että elämä jatkuu, mutta olisin itse kaivannut kiinteämmän lopun.
